Sat 6 FREELo-fi printing session 1: Drypoint Etching, using tetrapaks and a pasta machine. 
Xtina Lamb from Medway Fine Printmakers at INTRA in Rochester shows you how to create your own easy drypoint etching, using kitchen equipment and materials commonly found at home. Ask your friends if they have a neglected pasta machine if you don’t own one, we bet there’s one lurking at the back of a cupboard near you. Great for people who like drawing with clear hard lines.
Free, no printing experience necessary.

Want to learn how to create lithographs in your kitchen? Xtina Lamb shows you how with a miraculous fast and easy technique. This non-toxic, home-friendly version of lithography was developed by Émilie Aizier (alias Émilion) as a response to the toxic chemicals, special equipment and long learning process required for stone lithography. Great for people who like drawing with soft sketchy lines.

Sun 14   FREE Lo-fi printing session 3: Lo-Relief Printing, with cereal boxes and a wooden spoon.

This is a relief printing method where you cut away a surface and print the remaining raised part – like linocut, but using thin, laminated packaging materials such as cereal boxes. Xtina loves making this type of print, regardless of lockdown, and shows you how to do it, armed with a spoon. Great for people who like creating silhouettes.

Tue 16Neil Bottle discusses his digital textiles – Textile artist and Head of Fashion & Textiles at UCA, Neil Bottle discusses his meticulous approach to research for his latest body of work ‘All That Remains – 30 years in the Making’ – a complex layered personal collection of digitally printed textiles inspired by family photographs, a sense of time passing and how we remember things.
The exhibition ‘All that Remains’ will be coming to Rochester Art Gallery soon.

Summer Solstice Sun Printing – Cyanotypes Watch-and-print-along Facebook Live tutorial Have a go at this very early form of photography that uses the sun’s rays to produce beautiful and natural cyan blue prints. They say it’s science but it feels like magic! You’ll be sent 5 x ready-to-use cyanotypes and have the option to create prints in your own time or watch-and-print-along with Rachel Moore from iPrintedThat at a Facebook Live tutorial.
